At the opening ceremony held on May 13th, Professor Qingxin Yang, on behalf of the China Electrotechnical Society and the conference organizing committee, warmly welcomed the participating experts, scholars, and representatives. He expressed gratitude to the relevant organizations for their support of the conference. He pointed out that with the implementation of the carbon peak and carbon neutrality goals, constructing a new power system dominated by new energy sources and innovating electrical and energy equipment is an intrinsic requirement for achieving high-quality development.

In his address, Qijun Yu pointed out that Hefei University of Technology has a long history and profound foundation. Over the past 78 years, the university has always taken "serving the country through industry" as its mission, rooted itself in China, and made significant contributions to the country's economic and social development, especially in industrialization. The conference directly addresses the strategic imperative of achieving carbon peak and carbon neutrality in the country, consolidates scientific issues and development directions for global intelligent energy and low-carbon electrical equipment, and strengthens exchanges among domestic and foreign experts and scholars in the field of electrical and energy engineering. Through the exchange of ideas, collision of wisdom, and sharing of achievements at the conference, experts will further promote the development of related disciplines in the electrical field, facilitate the integration of industry, academia, and research, and help achieve the goal of carbon peak and carbon neutrality on schedule.

Mengqi Zhou fully appreciated the high-quality exchange of papers organized in this conference, laying a solid foundation for the conference. He, on behalf of IEEE, congratulated the successful hosting of the conference and pledged to further strengthen the friendly cooperation between IEEE and the China Electrotechnical Society. Both parties will leverage their resource advantages to innovate collaborative interactive mechanisms and create a platform for global engineers to share experiences and accomplishments.

Professor Jiangang Li, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of the Institute of Energy, Hefei Comprehensive National Science Center, Professor Yulong Ding, Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering and professor at the University of Birmingham, Professor Liuchen Chang, Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering and professor at the University of New Brunswick, Professor Jianguo Zhu from the University of Sydney, Professor Nicos Hatziargyriou from the National Technical University of Greece, Professor Stig Munk-Nielsen from Aalborg University in Denmark, Dr. Arnost Kopta, CTO of SwissSEM, Professor Liyi Li from Harbin Institute of Technology, and Professor Xing Zhang from Hefei University of Technology, among other experts in the field of electrical and energy engineering from China and abroad, delivered keynote speeches on topics including magnetic confinement fusion, zero-carbon energy storage, new energy power electronics, distributed energy regulation, medium-voltage power modules, wide-bandgap power devices, high-performance electric drive, space electromagnetic environment simulation, and high-proportion power electronic hybrid grid connection. They shared their academic and engineering achievements with the attending experts, scholars, and representatives. The keynote session was chaired by Professor Nianwen Xiang, Professor Helong Li, Professor Shaojun Xu, and Professor Tao Wen from the School of Electrical Engineering and Automation at Hefei University of Technology.
